DEPUTY DIRECTOR: FORESTRY DEVELOPMENT REF NO: FOM19/2022

SALARY : R477 090 per year

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or Diploma (NQF level 6) in Forestry/Development Studies or relevant equivalent qualification along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant forestry experience. Knowledge and understanding of the state Forest Act, the National Forest Act (NFA), and the National Veld and Wildland Fire Act (NVFFA). Knowledge of PFMA and other related environmental aspects.

Computer skills in MS Office software a valid driver’s license and must be willing to travel.

DUTIES: The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of the 10 million trees program. Provide and support other stakeholder tree initiatives. Manage and implement the Arbor Month / Abor city awards plan. Support for small producers and Forestry Business Development Projects. Perform needs analysis for existing and new projects. Contribute to the implementation of Forest Master
Plan. Facilitate the establishment of new afforestation. Identify suitable land for forestry development programs. Assist communities with regard to the granting of licenses of legal persons. Help carry out the scoping of the potential of forestry to contribute to poverty alleviation Ensure the integration of forestry development in the field of local, provincial and national development. Participate in Integral Rural Development and Urban Renewal Program. Implement government objectives in community developments. Development in Administration and Personnel Management. Compile and submit EPMDS documents from staff. Consolidate staff reports for submission to Deputy Director of Forestry Development.
