SUB-DIRECTOR GENERAL: HOSPITALS TERTIARY SERVICES AND DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES REF NO: NDOH 30/2022

SALARY: R1 544 415 per year, an all-inclusive remuneration package, [basic salary consists of 70% of the total package]. The flexible part of the package can be structured according to the Senior Management Service Guidelines.
CENTER : Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS: Postgraduate degree in Health, Social Sciences or Public Health or equivalent NQF 8 qualifications. SMS pre-entry certificate is required for appointment completion. At least 10 years of relevant work experience at senior management level Knowledge and experience in hospital management, tertiary health services and human resource development, policy development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the health challenges in South Africa as well as in the SADC regions. Good communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and computer skills. A creative and innovative thinker. Willingness to travel frequently and work irregular long hours. Ability to function under pressure. A valid driver’s license.

DUTIES: Facilitate proper governance of hospitals within a National Health Insurance system. Facilitate the planning and development of policies to ensure the effective Training of Health workers in line with the Human Resources for Health strategy. Development of transversal human resources policies in
the health sector Development of policies that guide the governance and management of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the country. Provide effective and efficient Forensic Chemistry Laboratory services to support the Criminal Justice System and reduce the burden of diseases and unnatural diseases.
causes of death Responsible for the policies that guide the management and service standards of the Forensic Pathology Services. Responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of policies in nursing education and practice. Responsible for planning, establishing norms and standards, monitoring and coordinating the delivery of health infrastructure to enable
provinces to plan, manage, modernize, rationalize and transform infrastructure, health technology, hospital management and improve quality of care. Responsible for the management of the provincial health facility revitalization grant and the infrastructure component of the national health grant.
